Experience Research + Social System Proposal
During my undergraduate time at RISD, I explored design for aging populations. My extensive research resulted in a proposal of applying universal design theories to social structures.
The proposal aims for a middle-out (rather than a top-down or bottom-up) approach to address the impacts of financial inequality on older adults and embrace them as productive members of society on personal, communal and government levels in order to improve overall life satisfaction.
With this multifaceted proposal, I earned the Maharam STEAM Fellowship. During my time as a Fellow, I worked with Age-Friendly DC, the World Health Organization, various DC government offices, AARP, AIA DC, and Washington DC residents to evolve and implement aspects of my original proposal.
